Restore Flow and Prepare Wells For Optimization
The Sonic Stimulation Tool (SST) is an advanced downhole technology designed to restore and enhance well productivity by generating powerful pressure waves that clear obstructions, improve near-wellbore permeability, and optimize flow conditions.
As a critical first step before deploying the Smart Well Optimization Tool (SWOT)™, SST ensures that wells are fully prepared to operate at maximum production performance and recover more reserves.

Advantages & Features
- Generates high-energy directionally focused pressure waves to stimulate reservoir performance
- Clears plugged perforations and eliminates near-wellbore damage
- Enhances near-wellbore permeability and re-establishes fluid flow pathways
- Effective across all reservoir types, including heavy oil environments
- When used in conjunction with a coiled tubing unit, it stimulates all of the perforations in a wellbore.
- Deployable any time during a well’s producing life
- Compatible with heavy oil, conventional oil, gas, and coalbed methane wells
Key Benefits
Restore and Improve Well Productivity
- Remove blockages and improve flow efficiency to bring underperforming wells back to life.
Maximize Downhole Systems Performance
- Prepare wells for optimal performance with SWOT™ to ensure better long-term results and more consistent production.
Enhance Heavy Oil Recovery
- Improve flow in high-viscosity reservoirs where conventional methods struggle to perform efficiently, due to gas locking and the inability to handle silt and sand produced with the fluids.
Versatile Downhole Applications
- Utilize SST for perforation cleaning, stimulation, vibration, and production enhancement.
Increase Overall Production Output
- Unlock significantly higher recovery than conventional artificial lift systems alone.

How It Works

1) Targeted Tool Deployment
The SST is conveyed using a coiled tubing unit, enabling operators to stimulate all of the perforations in a wellbore. This treatment can be used many times in a wellbore, based on operator discretion.

2) Sonic Pressure Wave Generation
An internal impact mechanism generates powerful pressure waves that propagate through the wellbore and surrounding formation, breaking up blockages and mobilizing trapped fluids.

3) Flow Restoration & Optimization
The stimulation process restores permeability and improves fluid mobility, creating ideal conditions for sustained production and seamless integration with optimization systems such as the Smart Well Optimization Tool (SWOT)™.

Smart Well Optimization Tool (SWOT)™
The Smart Well Optimization Tool (SWOT)™ is an intelligent downhole system designed to maximize production from hydraulically challenged wells. SWOT™ continuously adapts to changing reservoir conditions to optimize fluid removal and maintain flow, thereby unlocking previously unrecoverable reserves.
SWOT™ is deployed after the Sonic Stimulation Tool (SST), once plugged perforations have been cleared and flow has been restored. Together, SST and SWOT™ form a complete Brownfield optimization solution by stimulating the reservoir, restoring flow, and maximizing long-term production without the need for new drilling.

Wellsite Systems (Engineered Protection)
Optimum Petroleum’s wellhead shelter is a foundational component of the overall production system, designed to house, protect, and stabilize critical surface equipment in all operating conditions. More than environmental protection, it creates the controlled conditions required for advanced wellsite technologies to perform reliably.
SWOT™ tool operational systems require an environment to maintain electronic integrity and consistent operation. The shelter protects critical components from temperature extremes, animal damage from cattle/pests and environmental stress, ensuring reliable performance in demanding field conditions. The shelter enables this by protecting instrumentation, electronics, and the wellhead from extreme cold, heat, and exposure, ensuring uninterrupted operation and reliable data acquisition.
In cold-weather environments, the shelter helps retain and optimize reservoir geothermal energy, minimize the use of freezing suppression chemicals such as methanol, and keep systems functional. Therefore, on-time production is optimized. In warmer climates, configurable design elements, including reflective exterior finishes, help manage internal temperatures and prevent equipment stress or failure. This is not an optional add-on. The wellhead shelter is an essential infrastructure that directly supports the performance, reliability, and longevity of SWOT™ tools while enabling centralized monitoring and streamlined wellsite operations.
